Bruce Bessey, MD, FAAP
Dr. Bessey is a Board Certified Pediatrician. He went to undergraduate school at the University of Wisconsin where he studied zoology. Dr. Bessey received medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, after which he completed his training in Pediatrics at Emory University. Dr. Bessey has worked for over 30 years as a pediatrician in the Greater Atlanta area before joining PPOG.
His special interests include ADHD, adolescent care and developmental disorders. In his free time he enjoys hiking, reading books and spending time with his grandchildren.
George Katsitadze, MD, PhD, FAAP, CJCP

Dr. George Katsitadze was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1999 he moved to Atlanta and in 2003 completed his training in Pediatrics at Emory University. He has been practicing at Pediatric Partners of Gwinnett since 2003 and has been the recipient of many prestigious awards, including “America’s Top Pediatricians” in 2014 and 2015. Dr. Katsitadze has been a speaker at numerous international conferences and is an author of several medcial books. Besides his clinical work at PPOG, he is actively involved in telemedicine and health quality improvement projects both nationally and internationally.
He lives in Buckhead area with his wife and 2 daughters. During his free time he enjoys martial arts, snowboarding and travel.
Alison Lowen, MD, FAAP
Dr. Alison Lowen was born in Washington D.C., but lived all over the world growing up, which ultimately led her to medical school in Israel at a program with a concentration in global health at Ben Gurion University.
Following medical school, she completed residency at Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio.
She enjoys working with children from different cultures, and is especially interested in supporting breastfeeding, educating new parents, and caring for newborns and teenagers.
She lives in Decatur and enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters.
Nina Earnest, MSN., CPNP
Nina Earnest is a Georgia native born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. She moved on to Athens, GA where she studied biology and psychology at the University of Georgia before moving to Atlanta, GA to attend nursing school. She graduated summa cum laude from Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing with focus in pediatric primary care.
She has been with Pediatric Partners of Gwinnett since 2013 and serves as an executive board member to the Georgia chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She loves to create and build the relationships she has with her patients and their families, including those with special needs due to physical, mental, or genetic conditions.
She is a resident of the Peachtree Corners/Norcross area and enjoys being a wife and mother.
Carrie Wilson, CPNP
Carrie is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Before attending nursing school Carrie earned a degree in Biology with a focus in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Georgia. She then went on to earn her Bachelor's and Master's in Nursing with a concentration in Primary Pediatrics from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She started her nursing career as a cardiovascular intensive care nurse at Children's of Alabama. She has continued her passion for pediatric care into the primary care setting with particular interests in obesity management and setting healthy lifestyle goals.
A Georgia native, Carrie moved back to Georgia in 2014 to be closer to her family after spending 4 years in Alabama. She lives in Peachtree Corners with her husband and their two dogs, Molly and Mason. She enjoys playing with her dogs, traveling, spending time with family and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
Laura Orlando, CFNP
Laura is a bilingual board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She was born in Miami, Florida and moved to the Atlanta suburbs as a teenager. She speaks English and Spanish. As a young child, she always knew she wanted to pursue a career in nursing and ultimately become a nurse practitioner. Laura received both her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and Master's of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner from Mercer University.
Laura has experience working in primary care, emergency rooms, neonatal intensive care units, and psychiatric clinics. She enjoys dancing, traveling, crafts, reading, writing, and most of all, spending time with her 6 children and family.
Stephanie Waldrop, MD
Dr. Stephanie Waldrop was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in the Atlanta area. She completed her undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and received her MPH in International Health at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She completed her pediatric internship training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. and her residency training at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Her professional interests include weight management, nutrition, adolescent menstrual disorders and headaches. Dr. Waldrop is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
